Currently lignite and coal power plants deliver half of the electricity in Germany, the other part is covered by nuclear power, natural gas and renewable energy sources. A certain number of coal plants will be necessary to provide the energy demand in the near future.
As a result of the increasing energy demand worldwide, especially in Asia, improved technologies for power plants with higher energy efficiencies and lower environmental impacts have to be implemented.
Allied Carbon Credit is focused on energy utilization projects which aim at using residual biomass, biogas or CO2-friendlier fossil fuel (e.g. natural gas). Such energy sources lower the CO2 emissions for electricity or energy production by replacing emission-intensive fossil fuels.
